Friendship’s internal workshop concludes successfully

The Finance Department and the Internal Control & Compliance (ICC) department of Friendship recently organized a workshop on Financial Management for Friendship staff of the head office and field offices.  The two-day workshop was held on 25 and 26 April 2010 at Rigs Inn in Dhaka. 

The aim of the workshop was to help staff who are not from an accounting background understand the principles of financial management, budgeting processes to be followed, and to acquaint the participants with Friendship’s accounting system.  The workshop was a platform to ask questions and clarify ambiguities that staff may have had regarding both the theoretical and practical aspects of financial management.  It also provided a platform to suggest and discuss positive changes that can be made to the existing system to make it more effective, efficient and user-friendly.


 

The workshop was unique in the sense that it provided an opportunity to have a number of staff from Friendship’s different field offices come to Dhaka together and interact closely with each other and with the head office staff.  The participants appreciated the opportunity for close interaction between staff of different departments, and the work that went to design this workshop.
