The project aims to provide char dwellers not only with skills and opportunities to explore different sources of livelihood, but also to contribute to the overall development of the area.  The profit generated by a receiver of funds from us is divided in a way where (s)he receives 50% of it in cash, and the rest goes into individual savings (15%), FCDC savings (4%), schools (8%), health (3%), micro insurance  (5%), and monitoring (15%).

The benefits of the project are not only for the individual beneficiaries taking a loan from Friendship, initiating an income-generating activity with it, and enjoying the profit in exchange of the hard work.  While that is there, it is more community development focused. Profit-sharing enables the beneficiaries of the project to have an ownership of our other activities in the chars which includes provision of healthcare services and learning centres.
