Fifteen Satellite Clinics in Amtoli, Saronkhola and Kuakata. In the southern part of Bangladesh, after the cyclone SIDR health service destroy badly. After SIDR Friendship organized medical camps in five southern districts and treated 14,835 patients. But still there is huge demand of primary health care in the remote char areas and river banks. To improve the health condition those areas Friendship initiated to establish 15 satellite clinics in Amtali, Sorankhola and Kuakata. The Satellite Clinic will deliver health services through a team consisting of a Paramedic/Nurse, Councilor and a volunteer from local community, under the supervision of a Senior Paramedic/Medical Assistant. It is routinely supervised and monitored by a medical doctor. The team goes to previously announced service delivery locations on the day of the scheduled Satellite Clinic. Satellite Clinics will provide primary health care along with family planning; nutrition counseling; ANC/PNC; health education and limited diagnosis to the Char dwellers. Friendship has been initiated a vocational Training and income generating program on Weaving, Dyeing and Printing. Since its inception Friendship is experiencing that there are unmet demand of quality employment among women and that the women can produce high quality products efficiently in the char areas of Bangladesh. The area has potential to provide loyal (long-term) employees who are productive and skilled. Initially one training and production center will be established in a selected char (Nomad Island) of Jamuna River. Trainees will be selected from the vulnerable group of women and adolescents of the char areas. This group will be given by quality training on weaving, dyeing and printing. After completion of training these group will start production inside the training center or they can work independently. All Trainees and Trained artisans of the project will be given by logistics, production and product marketing assistance from Friendship. Group of women, adolescents and their family members will be directly benefited by this project. Destitute women and adolescents would be self-employed.details....

After the devastating cyclone SIDR in 15 November 2007, Friendship has taken huge relief and rehabilitation project in six southern districts. A number of development projects of Friendship are currently running in this area. Most of the poor people residing in the hard to reach areas are daily laborers, poor farmers or fishermen who have no means to increase their income due to their limitations of monetary involvement and lack of resources. In order to enable them to improve their overall poverty situation, Friendship is going to commence the Sustainable Income Generating Programme (SIGP) taking into account the limitations and opportunities for working in this region. 20 cooperatives have been formed in the southern areas of Bagerthat, Pirojpur, Patuakhali and Barguna districts for providing livelihood support. This type of cooperative called as Friendship Development Committee (FDC). The key objective of the project is rehabilitation of the disaster affected people through sustainable income generation activities which will ensure their livelihood and contribute in poverty alleviation. details....

Friendship is going to commence training center in Gaibandha. From this training centre Friendship staff will get training on Health, Livelihood, Education, Agriculture, Culture etc. To develop and promote realistic solutions this training centre will be helpful. Short and long term training session will be introduced. The training center will have accommodation facilities for trainer and trainee. A cafeteria will be there for staff and others. Professional course curriculum will be developed for above mentioned topics. The training center will be functional by the end of 2009. details....
